For Christmas, my wife bought me a PFD, a Kokatat Baha Tour. She thought that I'd prefer the blue color than the mango. While I like the look of the blue better, I feel that the mango color would be safer from a visibility perspective.
We decided to return and exchange the blue for mango. They didn't have my size in the store and it was backordered until mid-March. I went ahead with the order anyway, knowing that I didn't need the PFD until the end of March. My backordered date was this past Sunday, March 17. I used their online/live help and chatted with a customer service representative first thing that morning - at that point, she was open and honest that she didn't have any information, but they process weekend shipments in the afternoon and I could check back later that afternoon. When I contacted LL Bean again (her, actually), she broke the bad news that the shipment was delayed. I asked a couple of different questions, she offered to upgrade my shipping to FedEx 2nd day shipping without my asking - trying to help me get the PFD by the end of the month camping trip.
We'll see when I get it, but I appreciated the upgrade on shipping and wanted to publicly acknowledge their effort and give them kudos.
